Sustainability

Many of us discard of toothpaste tubes without a second thought. Those, that are well intentioned will wash out the tube and place it in the recycling bins. Unfortunately, toothpaste tubes cannot be disposed of in this way as they are made up of a mixture of plastic and contain an aluminium layer. Thus, making them non-recyclable. The facts are that over 1.5 BILLION empty tubes end up in landfill sites every year. Once in the landfill sites, it can take 500 YEARS for plastic tubes to biodegrade.

At BRYT Oral Care, sustainability is at the core of our products and values. We firmly believe that looking after your oral health should not be at the cost of the environment. After a lot of research, we have been able to create a toothpaste which will be a sustainable solution.

Out toothpaste tubes and caps are made from HDPE plastic.(High-Density Polyethylene). HDPE plastic is one of the most recycled plastics. The recycled plastic can then be turned into all kinds of new things and will result in reducing the number of toothpaste tubes which would otherwise end up in landfill sites

How do I recycle the tube and cap:

In the UK, BRYT oral care toothpaste can be recycled through normal HDPE recycling streams.
Steps to recycle:
• Firstly make sure that the tube has the HDPE symbol on it.
• Simply squeeze out as much toothpaste as possible and put their cap back on.
• Place the plastic in your household recycling bin.

Can the caps be recycled?

Yes, our caps are made out of HDPE plastic. Place the cap on the tube and dispose of in your recycling bin.

Can the box be recycled?

Boxes are used to package the toothpaste tube. These boxes are recyclable and can go through normal card recycling steams.
